OUR BELIEFS

WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS OFFERS REDEMPTION AND RESTORATION TO ALL WHO CONFESS AND FORSAKE THEIR SINS, SEEKING MERCY AND FORGIVENESS.

WE BELIEVE THAT EVERY PERSON MUST BE AFFORDED COMPASSION, LOVE, KINDNESS, RESPECT, AND DIGNITY.

Godhead

The Bible reveals there is only One True God. He is the Father who created all things, the Son who robed Himself in flesh and came to earth to redeem fallen man and the Holy Ghost who lives in the heart of His people. The Biblical titles Father, Son and Holy Ghost refer to three manifestations or distinctly different ways in which God expresses Himself.

Salvation

There are three steps to complete Christian conversion as plainly described in Acts 2:38

1. Repentance — confessing and forsaking sin and calling on the Lord Jesus for salvation;

2. Water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission (cleansing) of sins.

The word “baptism” means complete immersion in water (Acts 8:38).

3. Receiving the Holy Ghost, which is always verified by the speaking in other tongues.

Healing

During His earthly ministry, Jesus Christ “went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.” (Acts 10:38). The Lord Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). He still heals all who will call upon Him in faith, humility and obedience. In the church age the prayer of faith still saves (or heals) the sick (James 5:15).

Serve

A Christian should grow spiritually through faithful attendance of church, supporting the work of God in tithes and offerings, regular Bible study and developing a regular prayer life. Spiritual growth includes holiness and separation from the world.

Grow

We believe in the Great Commission, that we are to be spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Sanctuary of Houston is a church body that seeks to follow the way of Jesus Christ, to be a Apostolic, and to love our neighbors.

OUR WORSHIP

If you have never had the opportunity to be in a Apostolic service before,

you will discover that biblical expressions of worship are still practiced today.

The following are a some biblical references as to why we worship the way we do:

WE PRAY TOGETHER ALOUD because in the Bible we read, “They lifted up their voice to God with one accord.”- Acts 4:24

WE LIFT OUR HANDS IN PRAISE because in the Bible we read, “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” – Psalm 134:2

WE SING WITH ALL OUR HEARTS because in the Bible we read, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.” – Psalm 98:4

WE PLAY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS because in the Bible we read, “And all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments.” – II Samuel 6:5

WE CLAP AND SHOUT UNTO GOD because in the Bible we read, “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.”-Psalm 47:1

WE DANCE BEFORE THE LORD because in the bible we read, “Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs.” – Psalm 150:4

WE TESTIFY PUBLICLY because in the bible we read, “I will declare thy name unto my brethren; in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.” -Psalm 22:22

WE ANOINT WITH OIL FOR DIVINE HEALING because in the Bible we read, “Is any sick among you? let him call for the elder of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” -James 5:14

WE ALLOW THE OPERATION OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS because in the Bible we read, “When ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation.” – I Corinthians 14:26
